Worth knowing

  • Rights to Respect drew 50 registered teams nationally in 2024, 43 secondary-school teams and 7 university teams. Each submitting a written project proposal that was independently scored by two judges before 10 finalists were selected to pitch.
  • The Rights to Respect judging panel and workshop faculty came from outside the student body: SDG Move (the Centre for SDG Research and Support), the Division of Sexual Medicine and Menopause in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (Thai Red Cross Society), and the Faculty of Social Administration at Thammasat University.
  • The 2023/24 SCORA national team listed 27 members drawn from medical schools across Thailand, recruited through open Google Form rounds with no interview and no prior experience required.
  • Named external partners in the 2023/24 term were Youth Voices Count (an Asia-Pacific youth network), Tamtang Group, and the National Health Security Office (NHSO), alongside the IFMSA local committees at Walailak University and Naresuan University and the SCORA committee in Taiwan.
  • Be The Guardian Angel ran as a ticketed public event with roughly 40 paying participants at 200 baht each, an honorarium for the guest lecturer, paid AV support, catering for about 50, and a sponsored drink partner.
  • SCORA runs largely on participant fees and small sponsorships rather than a guaranteed grant: the term's handover records that registration income from its own projects was pooled and a surplus carried over to fund the following term's work.
